The Marriott Long Beach chosen as Official Hotel for GWA 2008

Hotel Accommodations:

Accommodations for this year's GWA participants will be provided by the Marriott Long Beach. Located near the beach, the Marriott is located only 3 miles away from the Richard and Karen Carpenter Center.
GWA 2008 is proud to provide the competing teams with discounted rooms at the beautiful Marriott Long Beach, located close to the beach, for the nights of Friday, February 8th and Saturday, February 9th. The hotel charges $148.35 (including tax) per night; however, we feel that this is too expensive for teams. Instead, we will be subsidizing the rooms for only $75 per night per room. Teams will be given rooms according to the following deadlines:

Thursday, December 13th – Friday, December 21st
Hotel rooms will be available to all teams for either a one or two night stay at a first come, first serve basis. December 21st is the FINAL date for subsidized rooms at $75/night per room.

Saturday, December 22nd - Friday, January 11th: Late FEES
Teams will now be charged $25/night per room (total $100/night) additional for their stay.

Saturday, January 11th – Saturday, January 18th
Any available rooms will be available for $100/night for any remaining teams and will also be open to the general public.

Details for Hotel Room Reservations:

1. At time of reservation, you must send a check (payable to ISC). You cannot reserve a room without sending a check! Please keep in mind that rooms are being reserved by the order in which we receive the checks in the mail.
2. Teams are only guaranteed room accommodations during the first time frame (December 13th – January 10th). After that, the deadlines are all on a first come, first serve basis, as rooms are being opened to the general public.
3. Reservations can only be made by the captains/managers of the competing team.
4. All rooms reserved during the first three deadlines are strictly for team use only (no family and/or friends).

GWA 2008 - Flight Accommodations

We will be providing bus transportation to and from the Marriott Long Beach and the Richard and Karen Carpenter Center all day on Saturday, February 9, 2008. Transportation will be provided for all teams who fly into Long Beach Airport (LGB), which is 2 minutes from the hotel. However, if arrangements can only be made through LAX, transportation will still be provided.  Please email the airline itineraries as soon as possible, once you and your team have finalized your flight, in order for us to plan your transportation. The last day to submit your itineraries is Wednesday, January 9th. All participants will be provided transportation to the official GWA 2008 after party and to LGB or LAX for departing flights on Sunday, February 10th.
